On May 15, 2026, the State Archives of the Minsk Region<\/strong> held an event for staff members to commemorate International Family Day<\/strong>. This holiday provided an opportunity for the institution’s staff to explore historical roots and discuss the importance of strengthening the family as the foundation of Belarus’s stable and cultural heritage.<\/p>\n

A thematic exhibition was prepared for the occasion<\/strong>. The exhibition featured birth certificates, statistical data, certificates and extracts on marital status, food price tags, and civil registration documents, vividly demonstrating how official documents have recorded the lives of Belarusian families for decades.<\/p>\n

The central part of the event was the historical and documentary exhibition and presentation \u00abPortrait of a Family in the Interior of Time\u00bb<\/strong>. This multimedia project demonstrated the transformation of home life, everyday life, and the material culture of people’s lives throughout the 20th century. Participants examined rare materials that formed a collective image of the Belarusian family through archival primary sources. They also noted that archival collections serve not only as a documentary base but also as a link between the past and the future, helping to preserve the historical memory of each family.<\/p>\n
