On the eve of Victory Day and the 85th anniversary of the start of the Great Patriotic War<\/strong>, the Mogilev Region State Archives<\/strong> held a series of thematic events<\/strong> for students of the Mogilev State College of Arts<\/strong> and the Mogilev State College of Economics, Industrial, and Technological Education<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The young students were shown the documentary film \u00abHero Fortress\u00bb<\/strong>, based on newsreels from the collections of the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents<\/strong>. The film is dedicated to the courage and heroism of the defenders of the Brest Fortress during its defense in the summer of 1941.<\/p>\n

The events were accompanied by guided tours during which students learned about various aspects of archival work, from document preservation to the creation of digital copies. In the archive’s reading room, visitors were able to see issues of the Mogilev regional newspaper \u00abFor Our Radicals\u00bb and learn about the region’s life during the \u00abvictorious\u00bb year of 1945.<\/p>\n

The use of audiovisual content during the events allows for a more accessible way to convey information about the heroic pages of Belarusian history during the Great Patriotic War to the younger generation.<\/p>\n
