{"id":1024116,"date":"2026-05-11T13:20:15","date_gmt":"2026-05-11T10:20:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/archives.gov.by\/en\/?p=1024116"},"modified":"2026-05-11T13:20:15","modified_gmt":"2026-05-11T10:20:15","slug":"reviving-history-days-of-remembrance-at-the-gomel-region-public-association-archives-for-victory-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archives.gov.by\/en\/news\/1024116","title":{"rendered":"Reviving History: Days of Remembrance at the Gomel Region Public Association Archives for Victory Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the lead-up to <strong>Victory Day<\/strong>, <strong>the State Archives of Public Associations of the Gomel Region<\/strong> held <strong>Days of Remembrance<\/strong> dedicated to <strong>the 81st anniversary of the Soviet people&#8217;s victory in the Great Patriotic War<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Students of <strong>the Gomel State College of Consumer Services and the Gomel State Machine-Building College<\/strong> were treated to a screening of <strong>the documentary film \u00abHero Fortress\u00bb<\/strong>, produced for <strong>the 85th anniversary of the defense of the Brest Fortress<\/strong> by <strong>the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents<\/strong> with the support of the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus.<\/p>\n<p>Authentic archival documents were presented to guests, including reports on damage caused by the Nazi invaders, memoirs of the city&#8217;s defenders, and personal files of members of the Gomel People&#8217;s Militia Regiment.
