{"id":1023920,"date":"2026-04-30T12:06:25","date_gmt":"2026-04-30T09:06:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/archives.gov.by\/en\/?p=1023920"},"modified":"2026-04-30T12:06:25","modified_gmt":"2026-04-30T09:06:25","slug":"archival-students-visited-the-belarusian-state-archives-and-museum-of-literature-and-art-bsamli","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archives.gov.by\/en\/news\/1023920","title":{"rendered":"Archival students visited the Belarusian State Archives and Museum of Literature and Art (BSAMLI)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On April 29, 2026, as part of the <strong>\u00abArchives for School\u00bb<\/strong> campaign, <strong>the Belarusian State Archives and Museum of Literature and Art<\/strong> (hereinafter referred to as BSAMLI) held <strong>a seminar<\/strong> for third-year students of the Archives Department of the History Faculty of <strong>Belarusian State University<\/strong> (BSU). The seminar focused on the use of archival documents in state archival institutions. The seminar was jointly prepared and conducted by <strong>Olga Sergeyevna Ivanova, Associate Professor of the Source Studies Department at BSU<\/strong>, and <strong>Tatyana Viktorovna Kekeleva, Lead Archivist of the Information, Publication, and Document Use Department at BSAMLI<\/strong>. The seminar addressed issues such as providing documents to users for use in the reading room, document publication, and organizing informational events, exhibitions, and tours.<\/p>\n<p>The students from the Archives Department were particularly interested in topics such as reading room maintenance, exhibition openings, and working with the media and tour participants, as these topics require direct interaction with users, professional competencies, and an individual approachable approach. Students acknowledged that working in the Information, Publication, and Document Use Department at the Belarusian State Archives and Museum (BSAMLI) confirms the importance of a creative approach to archiving. T.V.Kekeleva demonstrated modern approaches to organizing virtual exhibitions, including those created using artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n<p>Following the seminar, future archivists participated in a screening and discussion of <strong>the documentary film \u00abChernobyl: Chronicles of a Tragedy\u00bb<\/strong>, produced by <strong>the BGAKFFD<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The collaboration between the BSAML and the Archives Department of the Faculty of History of the Belarusian State University (BSSU) has a long and ongoing tradition.
