On April 17, 2026, as part of events commemorating the 40th anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident<\/strong>, Yulia Anatolyevna Zadiran, chair of the primary trade union organization of the Department of Archives and Records Management<\/strong>, and trade union and youth activists from national archival institutions participated in the dialogue platform \u00abThe Chernobyl Disaster: 40 Years Later\u00bb<\/strong>, organized by the Minsk city organization of the Belarusian Trade Union of Employees of State and Other Institutions<\/strong>. The venue was the Pioneer Cinema<\/strong> (20 Engels Street, Minsk).<\/p>\n

The speaker for the event was Zhanna Nikolaevna Chernyavskaya, chair of the Standing Committee on Ecology and Nature Management of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus and the Chair of the Commission on Natural Resources, Ecology, and Environmental Protection of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Opening the event, Vladimir Iosifovich Zubrik, Chairman of the Minsk City Organization of the Belarusian Trade Union of Employees of State and Other Institutions<\/strong>, noted that over the past 40 years, a difficult path has been traveled from the environmental disaster to the restoration of the territories affected by the accident.<\/p>\n

Zh.N.Chernyavskaya shared that in April 1986, when the Chernobyl disaster occurred, she lived with her family in Khoyniki and has firsthand knowledge of the Chernobyl tragedy.<\/p>\n

In her report, Zh.N.Chernyavskaya noted that in the 40 years since the Chernobyl disaster, painstaking work has been carried out to ensure safe living conditions for the population and mitigate the environmental and economic consequences of the Chernobyl accident, and an optimal radiation monitoring and control system has been created. Particular attention was paid to measures taken in the area of social protection.<\/p>\n

At the end of the event, the film \u00abChernobyl. Living Land\u00bb by the National Studio Belarusfilm was shown.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
