On March 20, 2026, a staff meeting<\/strong> was held in the conference hall of the National Historical Archives of Belarus<\/strong> to commemorate the 83rd anniversary of the destruction of the village of Khatyn by Nazi invaders<\/strong>. The event was dedicated to preserving the historical memory of the genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, Archives Director Mikhail Glushakov<\/strong> emphasized the importance of preserving the historical truth and preventing the distortion of facts about the genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War. Khatyn has become a symbol for hundreds of Belarusian villages that shared the same tragic fate. Preserving documentary heritage is the foundation for fostering patriotism and passing on historical memory to future generations.<\/p>\n

A screening of the documentary film \u00abNo Statute of Limitations: They Burned Khatyn\u00bb<\/strong> was held during the meeting. The film, based on archival documents and witness testimony, reveals in detail the crimes committed by Nazi executioners and their collaborators.<\/p>\n

The meeting concluded with a moment of silence in memory of the deceased residents of Khatyn and all victims of punitive operations in Belarus<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

NIA Belarus staff also plan to participate in nationwide memorial events and a flower-laying ceremony at the Khatyn memorial complex on March 22<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
