She later moved to the town of Khoyniki, where she worked as a nurse in a hospital and met her husband, Yevhen Kazachuk. The couple had a son and two daughters.

At the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, Yevhen Kazachuk was sent to occupied Khoyniki to create an underground patriotic organization, in which Antonina served as a liaison, and her young son, Rem, helped support his parents. In June 1943, when they were facing death, the family joined a partisan detachment, where Antonina provided medical care to the wounded and sick and managed the household. In August 1943, she lost her husband, and in November, she returned to liberated Khoyniki, where she lived until old age. She raised three children alone and worked for many years as the head of the district library.

Currently, Antonina Petrovna’s personal documents are kept in the Zonal State Archives in Rechitsa, in the Kazachuk family collection. Among them is a letter from the director of the Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War, dated January 29, 1971 (F. 698, Op. 1, D. 15, L. 1), expressing gratitude for the woman’s donation of her Order of the Patriotic War, 2nd Class, and a blanket from a partisan detachment to the museum’s collection.

1.
