As part of a planned series of training sessions for employees of the Department of Scientific and Technical Document Processing of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus<\/strong> (hereinafter referred to as NARB), sessions on \u00abProcedure for Conducting Scientific and Technical Document Processing\u00bb<\/strong> and \u00abTechnical Preparation of File Inventories\u00bb<\/strong> were held on February 26, 2026, and March 10, 2026.<\/p>\n

Training Session No.2, \u00abProcedure for Conducting Scientific and Technical Document Processing\u00bb, was conducted by N.V.Isaychuk, Deputy Head of the Department of Scientific and Technical Document Processing of the NARB<\/strong>. The lesson addressed organizational issues related to the implementation of work in accordance with the Procedure for Conducting Scientific and Technical Document Processing at the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus, approved by the minutes of the NARB EMC meeting dated September 29, 2022, No.11. Nadezhda Vasilyevna emphasized the presentation of work results and the principle of uniformity in work.<\/p>\n

NARB Deputy Director E.A.Stukanova<\/strong> spoke at the lesson, emphasizing the need for collaboration between the archive’s structural divisions, describing the ongoing acquisition work, and discussing in detail the formation of observation files for archival acquisition sources.<\/p>\n

Lesson No.3, \u00abTechnical Preparation of File Inventories\u00bb, was led by T.A.Baranova, Head of the File Technical Preparation Sector of the NARB Department of Scientific and Technical Document Processing<\/strong>. The class covered technical aspects of preparing inventories of permanent storage files, personnel files, and temporary storage files (over 10 years): computer typesetting, inventory composition, scientific reference apparatus, inventory numbering, final entry, and inventory certification sheet. Tatyana Aleksandrovna discussed in detail the design and composition of requisites in accordance with the Instructions for Records Management in Government Agencies and Other Organizations, approved by Resolution No.65 of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus dated August 29, 2025.<\/p>\n

M.N.Zhilinskaya, Head of the Archival Automated Technologies Department at NARB<\/strong>, spoke at the class, covering issues of working in Microsoft Word, compatibility between Windows versions, the DOCX file format for better compatibility, and the need to save final documents as PDF files. Maria Nikolaevna provided additional guidance to department employees on working with folders on the archive server and on personal computers, as well as on the need to copy and save important and current information.<\/p>\n

The training sessions are aimed at improving the professionalism, motivation, and efficiency of employees, as well as team building, sharing experiences, and reducing turnover.<\/p>\n

The staff of the Scientific and Technical Document Processing Department noted the importance and necessity of updating their knowledge and applying it in practice, and thanked T.A.Baranova, M.N.Zhilinskaya, N.V.Isaychuk, and E.A.Stukanova for the high level of organization and presentation of the sessions.<\/p>\n
