{"id":1023063,"date":"2026-03-02T09:24:11","date_gmt":"2026-03-02T06:24:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/archives.gov.by\/en\/?p=1023063"},"modified":"2026-03-02T09:24:11","modified_gmt":"2026-03-02T06:24:11","slug":"the-state-archives-of-the-vitebsk-region-continues-to-hold-events-as-part-of-the-volgograd-vitebsk-memory-of-generations-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archives.gov.by\/en\/news\/1023063","title":{"rendered":"The State Archives of the Vitebsk Region continues to hold events as part of the \u00abVolgograd-Vitebsk: Memory of Generations\u00bb project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On February 26, 2026, <strong>the State Archives of the Vitebsk Region<\/strong>, one of the founders of the <strong>\u00abVolgograd-Vitebsk: Memory of Generations\u00bb<\/strong> project, held a public meeting with its co-founders, <strong>the Vitebsk Regional Library named after V.I.Lenin<\/strong> and <strong>the Vitebsk Regional Museum of Hero of the Soviet Union M.F.Shmyrev<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The \u00abVolgograd-Vitebsk: Memory of Generations\u00bb project aims to unite the youth of Belarus and Russia to preserve the historical truth about the Great Patriotic War.<\/p>\n<p>The event included a lecture by <strong>Gleb Orlovsky, a researcher at the Vitebsk Regional Museum of Hero of the Soviet Union M.F.Shmyrev<\/strong>, on the formation of the architectural ensemble of Victory Square in Vitebsk.<\/p>\n<p>The State Archives of the Vitebsk Region held a screening of the documentary film <strong>\u00abThe Liberation of Vitebsk\u00bb<\/strong>, produced by <strong>the BSAKFFD<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The archive also presented banner exhibitions of documents, <strong>\u00abCraft after Crater, This Land Is Hollowed Out and Twisted&#8230;\u00bb<\/strong> and <strong>\u00abIn the Summer of 1944\u00bb<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>More than 110 people participated in the event, including university students, college and art school students, and representatives of the veterans&#8217; organization \u00abGolden Age\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<table border=\"0\"  width=\"100%\" cellpadding=\"5\" cellspacing=\"0\" class=\"gen_table\">\n<tr align='center'>\n<td align='center'><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/archives.gov.by\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/1.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" id=\"media-1080306\" class=\"wp-image-1080306 alignnone size-full\" width=\"50%\" \/><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td align='center'>1.
