On February 19, 2026, the International Belarusian-Uzbek Scientific and Practical Seminar on the Use of Archival Documents<\/strong> was held at the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus<\/strong> (hereinafter NARB). This event was the first in 2026 as part of the implementation of the Roadmap between archivists of the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Uzbekistan, signed in the fall of 2025.<\/p>\n

Oleg Leonidovich Voinov and Ulugbek Mirtalibovich Yusupov, heads of the archival services of Belarus and Uzbekistan<\/strong>, addressed the participants with welcoming remarks. They noted the importance and growing role of this area of work for archival institutions in both countries, emphasized the importance of interaction and exchange of experience, and outlined promising areas for collaboration.<\/p>\n

On the Belarusian side, reports were presented by the Deputy Director of the NARB, PhD in History S.V.Kulinok<\/strong> and M.D.Romanova, Chief Curator of the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents<\/strong>, shared their archival institutions’ experiences in publishing and promoting audiovisual documents online.<\/p>\n

From the Uzbek side, speakers included A.V.Makhkamov, Director of the National Archive of Scientific, Technical, and Medical Documentation of Uzbekistan<\/strong>, and Sh.A.Abdurakhimova, a researcher at the National Archive of Uzbekistan and PhD in History<\/strong>. They shared their experiences in using and promoting documents by archivists in Uzbekistan.<\/p>\n

At the conclusion of the seminar, participants were shown the video \u00abAI-history: Partisan Drawings Come to Life\u00bb<\/strong><\/a>, prepared by staff of the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus using artificial intelligence technologies<\/strong> and shared with their colleagues from Uzbekistan.<\/p>\n
