The Rechitsa State Archives<\/strong> permanently houses a personal collection<\/strong> belonging to folk artist, artistic director of the Ozershchyna Folk Choir, composer, and Honored Artist of the BSSR (1949), Tatyana Korneyevna Lopatina (1891-1980)<\/strong>. She was born in the village of Ozershchyna in the Rechitsa District to a farming family where a love of music and singing was shared from generation to generation. In 1921, Tatyana founded a music and drama club in Ozershchyna, and in 1936, a folk choir, which still exists today<\/strong>. During her leadership (until 1954), the choir performed successfully and gained popularity and the love of listeners.<\/p>\n

Among the documents in the Tatyana Lopatina collection is Ales Esakov’s essay \u00abLopatina’s Choir\u00bb<\/strong> (F. 885. Op. 1. D. 12. L. 50-54) from the encyclopedia \u00abWomen of Soviet Belarus\u00bb<\/strong>, published in 1954. The essay recounts the life and work of Tatyana Korneyevna, the creative work of the Ozershchyna Folk Choir she founded\u2014from its first performance on Rechitsa Radio in August 1936 to its tours throughout the USSR, the selection of soloists and repertoire, and Lopatina’s collaborations with renowned composers and musicians.<\/p>\n
