{"id":1022628,"date":"2026-01-26T09:36:26","date_gmt":"2026-01-26T06:36:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/archives.gov.by\/en\/?p=1022628"},"modified":"2026-01-26T09:36:26","modified_gmt":"2026-01-26T06:36:26","slug":"outstanding-people-of-belarus-gennady-aleksandrovich-kokhanovsky-a-virtual-exhibition-based-on-documents-from-the-zonal-state-archives-in-molodechno","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archives.gov.by\/en\/news\/1022628","title":{"rendered":"\u00abOutstanding People of Belarus: Gennady Aleksandrovich Kokhanovsky\u00bb: A Virtual Exhibition Based on Documents from the Zonal State Archives in Molodechno"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Archivists from <strong>the Zonal State Archives in Molodechno<\/strong> have prepared <a href=\"https:\/\/archives.gov.by\/wp-content\/uploads\/files\/virt_vyst\/zgamol_kohanovskij_ga.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a virtual exhibition of documents dedicated to <strong>Gennady Aleksandrovich Kokhanovsky<\/strong>, a Doctor of Historical Sciences, writer, and distinguished local historian and researcher<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Gennady Aleksandrovich was born on January 8, 1936, in the village of Domashi, Molodechno District. In 1963, he graduated from the Lenin Moscow Pedagogical Institute among the top students. In 1964, he began working at the Minsk Regional Museum of Local History in Molodechno, where he rose through the ranks from research fellow to director. He was later invited to work at the Institute of Art History, Ethnography, and Folklore of the Academy of Sciences of the BSSR, and from 1991 to 1994, he worked at the National Scientific and Educational Center named after F.Skoryna. There, he worked on issues of local history, museology, and librarianship.<\/p>\n<p>His scholarly legacy includes numerous publications in periodicals and encyclopedias, and he authored about two dozen books.<\/p>\n<p>Gennady Aleksandrovich Kokhanovsky died on January 15, 1994, and is buried in the cemetery of the village of Nosilovo.
