2026 has been declared the Year of Belarusian Women<\/strong>, and in the new issue of the \u00abArchive Herald\u00bb media project<\/strong>, we explore the life of Galina Nikolaevna Kharevich \u2014 a virgin lands worker whose life became a symbol of labor, memory, and resilience<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Born to a family of farmers in the village of Domanovo in the Vileika District, she endured the difficult trials of war and the loss of her father, arrested and executed for his ties to the partisans. From an early age, she demonstrated initiative, courage, and a willingness to help others.<\/p>\n

Her career was also connected to archival work: in 1948, Galina Kharevich worked as a secretary at the State Archives of the Molodechno Region<\/strong>. Her photographs and employment records are preserved in the archives\u2014living testimony to her connection with the archive.<\/p>\n

But the main page of her biography is the development of virgin lands in Kazakhstan. Her life ended tragically, but her memory lives on. The archive preserves her image so that it will not fade into time, but rather will stand as a testament to the strength and resilience of an entire generation.<\/p>\n
