Makarenko<\/strong>, <strong>Director of the Belarusian State Archives and Museum of Literature and Art<\/strong> (hereinafter referred to as BGAMLI), and <strong>O.F. Shatalova, Head of the Department of Scientific Description of Personal Documents<\/strong>, took part in <strong>the unveiling of a memorial plaque to writer and World War II veteran Aleksandr Anufrievich Savitsky<\/strong> at 11 Yanka Kupala Street. The ceremony was organized by <strong>the Union of Writers of Belarus<\/strong> in conjunction with <strong>A.A. Savitsky&#8217;s family<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Aleksandr Anufrievich<\/strong> was born on January 8, 1924, in Polotsk, to the family of a career Red Army officer. During the Great Patriotic War, he fought in <strong>the \u00abDeath to Fascism\u00bb<\/strong> partisan detachment, and from 1943, he commanded a sabotage group of <strong>the \u00abBolshevik\u00bb partisan detachment of the Voroshilov Brigade in the Vitebsk region<\/strong>. In 1944\u20131945, <strong>A.A. Savitsky<\/strong> served in the regular army during the liberation of Lithuania and Poland, and in the battles for the capture of Berlin. He was wounded three times. After demobilization, he worked for the editorial board of <strong>the Polotsk newspaper \u00abBalshavitsky Stsyag\u00bb<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In 1958, he graduated from <strong>the Literary Institute in Moscow<\/strong>, then completed postgraduate studies. <strong>Alexander Anufrievich<\/strong> has been engaged in literary work since 1943. He is the author of 10 novels, 13 novellas, and numerous short stories. Among them: <strong>\u00abThe Trail of the First\u00bb, \u00abThe Fall of the Mountain\u00bb, \u00abBelieve and Praise\u00bb, \u00abOnly Admirable\u00bb, \u00abThe Land Does Not Tell\u00bb, \u00abLet Not Wait\u00bb, \u00abThe Passion of the Everlasting\u00bb<\/strong>, and others.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A.A. Savitsky<\/strong> has been a member of <strong>the Writers&#8217; Union of the BSSR<\/strong> since 1961. He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, 1st Class, the Red Star, the Badge of Honor, the Order of Glory, 3rd Class, the Francysk Skaryna Medal, and other medals. For his trilogy \u00abDzivosy Lysai Gary\u00bb, the writer received the State Prize of the Republic of Belarus.<\/p>\n<p>Participation in the unveiling of <strong>the A.A.
