On September 26, 2025, employees of the Belarusian State Film and Photo Archive<\/strong> took part in a roundtable discussion, \u00abFilm and Photo Documentation as Historical Memory of the Soviet People’s Feat in the Great Patriotic War\u00bb<\/strong>, held as part of the Belarusian State Film and Photo Archive at the IX National Belarusian Film Festival in Brest<\/strong>. The event took place at the Brest Fortress Defense Museum of the Brest Hero Fortress Memorial Complex<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The roundtable was organized by the Belarusian Union of Cinematographers, the Belarusian State Film and Photo Archive, and the Belarusian Museum of the Brest Hero Fortress Memorial Complex<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

During the event, the roundtable participants and guests were addressed by Soviet and Russian actress Elena Nikolaevna Borzova<\/strong>, winner of the USSR State Prize (1984), and Doctor of Historical Sciences Irina Maslova<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Deputy Head of the Document and Information Management Department M.V.Garelik<\/strong> spoke at the roundtable, describing the archive’s work on archival documents, particularly within the framework of the Open Film Archive project<\/strong>, and the archive’s support for the civic-patriotic education of youth and the preservation of historical memory.<\/p>\n

The film \u00abLiberation of Brest\u00bb<\/strong>, created within the framework of the Open Film Archive project, and the film \u00abI Am a Fortress, Leading the Fight\u00bb<\/strong> (directed by I. Pikman, 1974) were screened for the guests and participants of the roundtable, including members of the Sokol military-patriotic club. Footage featuring views of the liberated city of Brest and the Brest Fortress generated keen interest among the participants.<\/p>\n
