On September 1, 2025, the director of the State Archives of the Gomel Region Yuri Shestopalov<\/strong> and senior researcher Maya Vashchenko<\/strong> took part in the ceremonial assembly, which took place in the State Educational Institution \u00abSecondary School No.75 of Gomel\u00bb<\/strong>. In a solemn atmosphere, the school principal Marina Chernenko<\/strong> congratulated the students on the Day of Knowledge<\/strong>, noting that she counts on the help of the parents of first-graders in the process of their education, and wished the graduates to make the right choice of future profession and successfully pass the exams.<\/p>\n

During the first lesson \u00abRelay of Generations\u00bb<\/strong>, the director of the archive Yuri Shestopalov congratulated the students on the new academic year, wishing them success and perseverance in their studies, as well as creative success and good health. In a conversation with students, Yuri Shestopalov especially emphasized the importance of friendship, collectivism, mutual assistance and mutual understanding between people. These fundamental principles underlie the upbringing of an individual, starting from school. Strong friendship in a team is the key to a peaceful sky. The younger generation in the future will continue the policy of our esteemed President Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko. This is a policy of peace, kindness and creation. But creating the future, it is necessary to preserve the past. To be a worthy citizen of your country means to study the history of your native land, respect and honor national traditions, and protect your native nature for future generations.<\/p>\n

Yuri Shestopalov presented the students with a set of books published within the framework of the \u00abUnion State Library\u00bb project<\/strong>. The set included books about the first Russian and Belarusian educators and scientists. These are Simeon Polotsky, Mikhail Lomonosov, Ivan Fedorov, Francysk Skaryna, Dmitry Mendeleyev and other famous historical figures who made a huge contribution to the development of science and culture in Russia and Belarus. The gift set also included the book \u00abSpace. The Dream of Mankind\u00bb. This wonderful gift on Knowledge Day will help schoolchildren study the history of Russia and Belarus in a more in-depth and exciting way.<\/p>\n
