On July 29, 2025, employees of the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art (hereinafter referred to as BGAMLI), headed by director E.A. Makarenko<\/strong>, visited the exhibition of our collection creator, photo artist, honored journalist of the Belarusian Union of Journalists Yuri Sergeevich Ivanov<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

From the walls of the long corridor on the second floor of the Center for Research of Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, faces of famous actors, directors, sculptors, artists, writers, architects, whose photographs were taken by Yuri Sergeevich in the 1960-1970s, look at us from each framed photograph. The exhibition-vernissage of the documentary photographer Yu.S. Ivanov consists of three sections – \u00abVeterans\u00bb, where almost thirty photographs of participants in the Great Patriotic War are presented, \u00abCreators\u00bb – these are portraits of Belarusian cultural figures and their personal aphorisms about themselves, life, attitude to art, \u00abEveryday Life\u00bb – a kind of report on the activities of the Center, where meetings, gatherings, awards of competition participants are held. As a rule, after such meetings, Yuri Sergeyevich makes photo collages from his photographs – portraits of participants, moments of discussion, documents. The \u00abCreators\u00bb section of this exhibition is the most impressive in terms of the number of portraits and emotional and psychological perception. Among them are portraits of the People’s Writer of the BSSR Ivan Pavlovich Melezh, made exactly 65 years ago, People’s Artists of the BSSR Tatyana Mikhailova Kolomiytseva and Natalya Viktorovna Gaida, People’s Artist of Belarus, sculptor Vladimir Ivanovich Slobodchikov and many others.<\/p>\n

We thank Yuri Sergeyevich Ivanov for his creative work and for the opportunity to meet the outstanding creators of our Belarusian culture.<\/p>\n
