The main goal of the practice is to acquire practical skills in working with archival handwritten documents of the 16th &#8211; 17th centuries.<\/p>\n<p>Under the guidance of <strong>the deputy head of the department of ancient acts Elena Doroshenko<\/strong> and <strong>associate professor of the department of source studies of the Faculty of History of BSU, candidate of historical sciences Andrei Latushkin<\/strong>, students learned to read archival documents in the Old Belarusian language, filled in tables of graphic forms of letters of the Cyrillic alphabet, compiled a dictionary of historical concepts, identified and described watermarks (filigree), and formulated headings for documents.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In the photo:<\/strong> Conducting paleographic practice<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/archives.gov.by\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/1-81.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" id=\"media-1073452\" class=\"wp-image-1073452 alignnone size-full\" width=\"80%\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From June 30 to July 18, 2025, the National Historical Archives of Belarus hosted a paleographic practice of students of the Faculty of History of BSU.
