Korotkevich.

The museum is located in a building – a monument of civil architecture of the late 19th – early 20th centuries, where since 1925 there was a maternity hospital, in which the future writer was born on November 26, 1930.

In two spacious halls on the first floor of the building there is a museum exposition under the general title «Portrait of a writer and a man».

The central part of the exposition of the first hall is occupied by the writer’s creative workshop – a fragment of the study of his Minsk apartment. In 2005, for the 75th anniversary of Korotkevich, the second hall was opened, dedicated to the literary heritage of our fellow countryman. A sublime and romantic atmosphere reigns here, because Vladimir Karatkevich was a romantic writer in his style of work. There is a research center inside the exhibition. It includes a scientific library, methodological materials, and a researcher’s workplace. Here you can also hear unique recordings of the writer’s voice, musical works by Belarusian performers based on his poems, and watch feature films based on Karatkevich’s scripts. The exhibition presents about 640 items. The most valuable of them are the writer’s personal belongings, manuscripts of his works, and drawings by Karatkevich the artist.

There is an art gallery on the second floor of the museum.

1.
