July 16, 2025 marked the 35th anniversary of the establishment of the Mogilev History Museum.<\/strong><\/p>\n

To mark the anniversary, the archive staff prepared a digital copy of the decision of the executive committee of the Mogilev City Council of People’s Deputies \u00abOn the establishment of the Mogilev City History Museum\u00bb dated July 16, 1990, No.4-34, and presented it to the museum director.<\/p>\n

Based on the documents on the history of the city of Mogilev collected by Ieronim Iosifovich Filippovich<\/strong>, the executive committee decided to establish a city museum. The building of the former bishop’s house of St. George Konissky was allocated to house the exposition. Later, the museum moved to the restored Town Hall building.<\/p>\n

Over the years of the museum’s work, its collections have been replenished with hundreds and thousands of exhibits. The most valuable among them are early printed books (the Statute of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania of 1588, \u00abApostle\u00bb by Spiridon Sobol, \u00abThe Great Art of Artillery by Kazimir Semenovich\u00bb), as well as knightly armor from the 15th century, donated for safekeeping by archaeologist I.A.Marzalyuk.<\/p>\n

The Institution \u00abState Archives of the Mogilev Region\u00bb congratulates the museum staff on their anniversary and wishes them creative success and longevity!<\/strong><\/p>\n
