As part of the Days of St. Petersburg in Minsk, on July 14, 2025, in the afternoon, the state institution \u00abCentral Laboratory for Ensuring the Preservation of Documents of the National Archival Fund of the Republic of Belarus\u00bb<\/strong> was visited by Natalia Gennadyevna Mironenko<\/strong>, Head of the Department for the Use of Documents, Project and Organizational Work of the Archival Committee of St. Petersburg, and Olga Nikolaevna Peibo<\/strong>, Director of the St. Petersburg State Budgetary Institution \u00abLaboratory for Ensuring the Preservation of Documents of State Archival Institutions of St. Petersburg\u00bb. The guests were accompanied by A.E.Tsvetkov<\/strong>, Deputy Director of the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus.<\/p>\n

During the familiarization with the material base and work experience, which was conducted by the director of the laboratory V.L.Klyuiko<\/strong>, the laboratory employees shared their professional experience in the field of ensuring the preservation of paper documents.<\/p>\n

The guests were very interested in learning about all stages of the technological process of microbiological research, disinfection, restoration, binding, digitization and microfilming of archival documents, and asked many questions to specialists about the materials and biocides used.<\/p>\n

The discussion was prompted by the various methods used to create an insurance fund of unique and especially valuable archival documents.<\/p>\n

In the area of restoration and conservation of archival documents, the guests were impressed by the volume and quality of the restoration work performed.<\/p>\n

Of particular interest was the unique experience of the laboratory in saving partisan documents from the Great Patriotic War, which had lain in the ground for more than 80 years and were found by searchers in the forest of the Soligorsk region.<\/p>\n

Such events contribute to a fruitful exchange of experience with colleagues and the establishment of new professional connections.<\/p>\n
