July 6, 2025 marks the 125th anniversary of the birth of Ivan Stepanovich Lupinovich<\/strong>, a soil scientist and agricultural chemist, academician of the Academy of Sciences of the BSSR.<\/p>\n

During his years of scientific activity, I.S. Lupinovich developed a methodology for complex natural and historical zoning of the territory of the USSR and the BSSR for agricultural use. He studied the genesis, physical, historical and biological properties of swampy and peat-bog soils and the possibilities of increasing their fertility. He studied the agro- and biochemical properties of soils and soil nutrition of plants.<\/p>\n

On the YouTube channel of BGAKFFD<\/strong><\/a>, for the 125th anniversary of the birth of Ivan Stepanovich Lupinovich, a soil scientist and agricultural chemist, academician of the Academy of Sciences of the BSSR, president of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of the BSSR, a promotional video for the exhibition \u00abExplorer of the Polesie Lands\u00bb<\/strong> was posted.<\/p>\n

At present, the funds of the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents contain more than 20 units of photo documents from 1940 to 1959 and 12 units of film documents from 1949 to 1960 related to the scientific activities of I.S. Lupinovich.<\/p>\n

Photo and film documents (plots of the documentaries \u201cThe 30th Year of the BSSR\u201d, 1949, \u201cSoviet Belarus\u201d, 1951, \u201cWe Live in Minsk\u201d, 1958, newsreels \u201cSavetskaya Belarus\u201d and \u201cNews of the Day\u201d) allow us to see I.S. Lupinovich during meetings of the Scientific Council of the Academy of Sciences of the BSSR, laboratory research, presentations at various meetings and much more.<\/p>\n

Ivan Stepanovich Lupinovich passed away on October 9, 1968.<\/p>\n

During the years of his scientific activity, he published over 120 scientific works, including 3 monographs. Under his scientific supervision, more than 50 candidate and 7 doctoral dissertations were defended.<\/p>\n

The name of I.S. Lupinovich was assigned to the Belarusian Agricultural Library of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.<\/p>\n
