On May 22, 2025, the \u00abXXV Uzvyshauskaya Readings\u00bb<\/strong> took place at the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art<\/strong> (hereinafter referred to as BGAMLI) \u00abAuthor and archives: capture and subsequent literary and artistic decline\u00bb<\/strong>. \u00abUzvyshavskiy reading\u00bb is an annual interdisciplinary conference organized by BGAMLI since 2000. It is named after the Belarusian literary and creative association \u00abUzvyshsha\u00bb, which operated in 1926 – 1931.<\/p>\n

The conference is an important platform for discussing common problems and issues for researchers of the history of culture of Belarus who seek to expand their theoretical and practical experience in studying the documentary heritage of our country. It is noteworthy that among the 12 participants of this year’s readings there were professional literary scholars, historians, archivists, librarians and art historians.<\/p>\n

The conference was opened by a report by M.F.Shumeiko<\/strong>, professor of the Department of Source Studies of the Belarusian State University, dedicated to the selection of texts for scientific publications. A.V.Zapartiko<\/strong>, Honored Archivist of Belarus, summarized the experience of identifying and returning archival documents from the former republics of the USSR. Yu.V.Amosova<\/strong>, chief bibliographer of the Information and Analytical Department of the National Library of Belarus, spoke about the practice of interaction between the library and the Belarusian State Library of Literature and Art in popularizing the documents of the Pesnyary ensemble. The reports of the members of the National Academy of Sciences D.M.Drozd<\/strong> on the identification of Alesya, the muse of the Belarusian writer V.Dunin-Martsinkevich, A.A.Kapliyev<\/strong> on the use of personal documents for studying the history of medicine and D.S.Pyzh<\/strong> on the documents of the correspondent movement caused significant discussions. Researchers I.E.Bogdanovich, O.A.Danilchik, T.A.Lavrik, E.I.Morozova, S.N.Zaprudsky<\/strong> made reports on the use of documents and rethinking the work of Belarusian writers, participants of \u00abUzvysha\u00bb.<\/p>\n

The participants of the \u00abXXV Uzvysha Readings\u00bb declared the need for further interaction and expansion of mutual cooperation for the preservation and fruitful study of literary and artistic heritage.<\/p>\n
