On May 21, 2025, employees of the State Archives of the Vitebsk Region<\/strong> organized an information event for members of the Vitebsk Regional Organization of the Belarusian Society of the Deaf<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The event began with a short lecture on the history of the archive. Information was also provided on what documents are sent to the archive for storage and how citizens can work with them.<\/p>\n

A documentary film, \u00abLiberation of Vitebsk\u00bb, prepared by the Belarusian Society of the Deaf, was shown to members of the Vitebsk Regional Organization of the Belarusian Society of the Deaf.<\/p>\n

The event ended with a tour of the archive storage facility, which was conducted by Olga Makarevskaya, Head of the Department for the Preservation of Documents and Funds<\/strong>. During the tour, information was provided on the work of archivists to ensure the preservation of documents and the creation of the Use Fund. The participants of the event were especially interested in the use fund on microfilm.<\/p>\n

The event ended with a visit to the restoration workshop, where restorer Yulia Dotsenko<\/strong> demonstrated the basic principles of archivists’ work on document restoration.<\/p>\n
