On May 14, 2025, the International scientific and practical round table \u00abThe Great Patriotic War: feat, memory, pain\u00bb<\/strong> (to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory) was held at the Vitebsk State Technological University<\/strong> (VSTU).<\/p>\n

The event was organized by VSTU in cooperation with the Department of History and Cultural Heritage of the Vitebsk State University named after P.M.Masherov<\/strong>. The event featured more than 30 reports by researchers from Vitebsk, Minsk, Gomel, Polotsk, Bykhov, Gorki, Volgograd, Pskov, Omsk and Syktyvkar<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The round table was attended by graduate and undergraduate students of VSTU.<\/p>\n

In person, in absentia and remotely, 7 doctors of science and 26 candidates of science took part in the round table. The problematic field of the event was quite broad and included a list of such issues as source studies and historiography of the Great Patriotic War, military operations on its fronts, partisan and underground struggle against the Nazi invaders, German occupation and genocide of the Belarusian people, the Soviet rear during the war.<\/p>\n

Employees of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus<\/strong> and the State Archives of the Vitebsk Region<\/strong> spoke about unique documents and photographs from the period of the Great Patriotic War, which reveal new facts about the military operations of the fronts, the liberation of Belarus and the restoration of its economy in the post-war years.<\/p>\n

From the State Archives of the Vitebsk Region, Deputy Director Tatyana Buevich<\/strong> and leading archivist Svetlana Myasoedova<\/strong> took part in the event.<\/p>\n

Tatyana Buevich presented a report on the topic \u00abOpen Film Archive. We brought this day closer as best we could\u00bb, as one of the forms of work of the State Archives of the Vitebsk Region to popularize the history of the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945)\u00bb<\/strong> with the screening of the films \u00abLiberation of Vitebsk\u00bb<\/strong> and \u00abHistory of the Great Victory\u00bb<\/strong>, prepared by BGAKFFD<\/strong>. During the presentation, one of the methods of presenting chronicle-documentary material through a quest<\/strong> compiled based on the film \u00abHistory of the Great Victory\u00bb was announced. At the end, the winners were announced, who received gifts – books published by the State Archives of the Vitebsk Region<\/strong> about the Great Patriotic War.<\/p>\n

Svetlana Myasoyedova<\/strong> voiced a report on the topic \u00abLists-reference books of Nazi criminals and their accomplices, compiled in 1947 – 1955 as a source on the history of the genocide of the Belarusian people\u00bb<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
