May 9 is the day of remembrance of the fallen and honoring the living heroes<\/strong>. This is the jubilation of the liberated people and an eternal reminder to the young of the price paid for the Great Victory.<\/p>\n

Employees of the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo and Sound Documents<\/strong> (hereinafter referred to as BGAKFFD) took part in the ceremonial events. The BGAKFFD team, together with other organizations and enterprises of the Dzerzhinsky district, marched in a ceremonial procession as part of the \u00abBelarus Remembers\u00bb<\/strong> campaign. A wreath was laid at the Dzerzhinsk fraternal cemetery in memory of those who died in the Great Patriotic War<\/strong>. The employees of the institution \u00abBelarusian State Archive of Film, Photo and Sound Documents\u00bb (hereinafter – BGAKFFD) presented the exhibition \u00abFrom Brest to Berlin\u00bb<\/strong> on 7 stands presented photographs taken by military photo correspondents. The exhibition demonstrates the beginning of the battles of 1941. Hard times that the Soviet people had to endure. Destruction of cities, villages and population (209 out of 270 cities and regional centers, as well as more than 12,300 villages were destroyed and plundered).<\/p>\n

1943-1944. Offensive operation near Moscow and Stalingrad, liberation of Gomel and Operation Bagration. Battles in East Prussia and during the capture of Berlin.<\/p>\n

Frontline footage captured the horrors of the occupation regime and destruction, the actions of the partisan movement, people’s avengers, ordinary Soviet people, who defended their honor and independence to the last drop of blood. 1944. Liberation. Joyful moments, moments and the Great Victory. Thanks to the veterans of the Great Patriotic War, who gave us peace and freedom!<\/p>\n

Guests and visitors were also able to get acquainted with photographic equipment and various types of film, video and audio document carriers used in the past – cameras, video cassettes, magnetic tape, positive and negative film.<\/p>\n
