On May 8, 2025, a ceremonial meeting of the staff was held at the institution \u00abState Archive of Public Associations of the Gomel Region\u00bb<\/strong>, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, the director of the state archive Irina Vladimirovna Zhineva<\/strong> noted that this holiday is common to all our people: veterans, their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. It is a part of the history of each family. This is a day of sacred memory of those who laid down their lives on the battlefields and gave their lives in the fight against fascism. The memory of these heroes lives in every Belarusian family, in the family of each of us. In conclusion, Irina Vladimirovna<\/strong> congratulated the staff and their families on the upcoming holiday of the Great Victory. A screening of the documentary film \u00abThe History of the Great Victory\u00bb<\/strong> was organized for the archive staff. It was prepared for the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents<\/strong> with the support of the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

After watching the film, the employees of the state archive visited the memorial to the people’s militia in Komsomolsky Park in Gomel<\/strong>. The archivists laid flowers and observed a minute of silence in memory of the fighters of the people’s militia regiment who defended Gomel together with the Red Army troops from the Nazi invaders in August 1941.<\/p>\n
