On April 25, 2025, the head of the Department for the Use of Documents of the State Archive in Orsha<\/strong>, Maria Nikulina<\/strong>, took part in the open information platform \u00abFlerov\u00bb<\/strong>, dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the birth of Ivan Andreevich Flerov<\/strong>, commander of the legendary \u00abKatyusha\u00bb, which took place in the Military History Museum named after Hero of the Soviet Union K.S. Zaslonov<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The information platform was attended by students and teachers of the state educational institution \u00abSecondary School No.20 of Orsha named after I.A. Flerov\u00bb<\/strong>, students and teachers of the Orsha College of VSU named after P.M. Masherov<\/strong>, employees of the Military History Museum named after Hero of the Soviet Union K.S. Zaslonov<\/strong>, the Museum of History and Culture of the city of Orsha<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

During the event, reports were made about the defense of Orsha in the summer of 1941, the development and implementation of the BM-13 rocket launcher system in the Red Army, the life and feat of Ivan Andreevich Flerov<\/strong>, preserving the memory of the hero in our days: the construction of the memorial \u00abFor Our Soviet Motherland!\u00bb, naming a street and an educational institution in his honor.<\/p>\n

In July 1941, with combat salvos at the Nazi invaders in the Western Front zone, I.A. Flerov’s<\/strong> battery announced to the world that the Red Army had a new, powerful weapon. July 14 is the official date of the first combat salvo of \u00abKatyusha\u00bb at the Orsha railway station.<\/p>\n

The Great Patriotic War revealed many strong-willed people, heroes of the front and the rear, who showed courage, bravery, and self-sacrifice. Paying tribute to all who contributed to the Victory, we remember the colossal sacrifices made in the fire of World War II. Nothing can appreciate or compensate for the sacrifices made. The names of the heroes who died in the struggle for freedom and independence of our Motherland in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 will live forever in the grateful memory of the people.<\/p>\n
