On April 23, 2025, as part of the events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War, employees of the institution \u00abState Archive of Public Associations of the Gomel Region\u00bb<\/strong> took part in the opening of the exhibition \u00abI am a Soviet person\u00bb<\/strong>, which took place in the Rumyantsev and Paskevich Palace<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The exhibition displays fine art items of the Soviet and post-Soviet period from the museum’s collection, made in the portrait genre. They display the appearance of Soviet people, those who together managed to survive during the hard times of war, and then find strength in themselves, having recovered from their wounds, to build a new peaceful life in the country. Among them is Hero of the Soviet Union E.I. Barykin<\/strong>, who organized underground and partisan movements in the Gomel region.<\/p>\n

The multi-colored palette of works presented at the exhibition introduces the work of artists whose fate or the fates of the characters in the portraits were connected with the Gomel land.<\/p>\n
