The State Archives of the Vitebsk Region<\/strong> and the Cultural Institution \u00abVitebsk Regional Museum of the Hero of the Soviet Union M.F. Shmyrev\u00bb<\/strong> have long-standing fruitful cooperation in the field of popularizing the history of the Great Patriotic War. Therefore, it was decided to hold a joint event – the Day of Remembrance dedicated to the heroism of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War, on the basis of the museum.<\/p>\n

As part of the event, a premiere of a chronicle-documentary film prepared by BGAKFFD<\/strong>, \u00abThe History of the Great Victory\u00bb<\/strong>, was organized. The films \u00abLiberation of Belarus\u00bb<\/strong>, \u00abLiberation of Vitebsk\u00bb<\/strong> and \u00abOperation Bagration\u00bb<\/strong> were also shown. Deputy Director Tatyana Vladimirovna Buevich<\/strong> acted as a speaker.<\/p>\n

The lectures \u00abOn the genocide of the Belarusian people: restoration and preservation of historical justice\u00bb, \u00abFrom the history of the Vitebsk flying club\u00bb were given by the leading archivist Anton Nikiforovich Yupatov<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The speech of the archivist of the 1st category Maxim Konstantinovich Olefirenko<\/strong> was devoted to the demining of the territory of the Vitebsk region after its liberation.<\/p>\n

The reports \u00abEvents of the Great Patriotic War through the eyes of eyewitnesses\u00bb and \u00abWho defeated fate: the feat of Zinaida Mikhailovna Tusnolobova-Marchenko\u00bb were prepared by the head of the department Elena Mikhailovna Bondareva<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The relationship between the history of the family and the history of the country was reflected in the speech of the leading archivist Kristina Vadimovna Bogush<\/strong> \u00abHistorical memory: from archival heritage to a family album\u00bb.<\/p>\n

The event was attended by 76 history students of the Vitebsk State University named after P.M. Masherov<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

During the event, quests and quizzes were held. The winners received as gifts publications about the Great Patriotic War, prepared on the basis of archival documents.<\/p>\n
