March 4, 2025, the Republic of Belarus celebrated the Police Day<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

As part of the celebration of this significant date, the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus<\/strong> (hereinafter referred to as NARB) presented a documentary exhibition and two banner exhibitions – \u00abThe Land of Courage and Glory\u00bb<\/strong> and \u00abWe Stood and Won\u00bb<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Members of the government, deputies of the House of Representatives and the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, diplomats accredited in Belarus, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and numerous guests<\/strong> took part in the ceremonial meeting.<\/p>\n

During the Great Patriotic War, police officers, like all the Belarusian people, stood up to fight the Nazi invaders. Special groups of the NKVD and the NGB, partisan detachments created and led by police officers, courageously and heroically fought in the occupied territory of Belarus against the Nazi invaders. The Motherland highly appreciated the courage, bravery and heroism of the police officers, many of whom were awarded high government awards.<\/p>\n

Among the documents of the NARB presented at the exhibition are lists of NKVD employees serving in partisan detachments of Belarus; a report on the work of the party organization of the Militia Department of the NKVD of the BSSR; orders and information on the combat operations of partisan detachments; award and personal sheets for partisan police officers, and other documents.<\/p>\n

In the post-war period, the Belarusian militia played an important role in ensuring the peaceful life of our people: it eliminated various underground bandit groups, fought crime, participated in demining the territory of Belarus, created and took patronage over orphanages for orphans and children left without parents, and more.<\/p>\n

The documents of the NARB aroused genuine interest and attention of both the police officers and the numerous guests who participated in the solemn celebration of Police Day.<\/p>\n
