On February 11, 2025, at the initiative of the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus<\/strong>, a working meeting of archivists with a delegation of the United Institute of Informatics Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus<\/strong>, the leading organization of Belarus for research in the field of intelligent information technologies, headed by Deputy Director General for Scientific Work of the Institute S.N.Kasanin<\/strong>, was held at the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Deputy Director of the Department of Archives and Records Management A.E.Tsvetkov<\/strong> in his welcoming speech noted the importance of developing technologies using artificial intelligence and introducing them into archival work.<\/p>\n

Deputy Director of the National Archive E.A.Stukanova<\/strong> addressed the scientists. In her report, Elena Aleksandrovna spoke about the main areas of the archive’s activities, and also focused on problematic issues that require finding technological solutions: how to help citizens navigate which archive to contact for the information they need and at the same time reduce the labor costs of archivists; how to use digital copies of documents to search for information in them, etc. A tour was also held for the guests of the archive.<\/p>\n

Continuing the working meeting, the director of the Belarusian Center for Digitalization of Archival Activities D.V.Shabrov<\/strong> spoke to the audience with a report on \u00abInformation Systems and Resources Administered by the Center\u00bb<\/strong><\/p>\n

Summing up the meeting, archivists and scientists discussed the practical aspects of introducing artificial intelligence into archival activities and agreed to continue cooperation.<\/p>\n
