\nDecember 27, 2024 marks the 105th anniversary of the birth of Galina Klimentyevna Makarova – Belarusian theater and film actress, People’s Artist of the BSSR, People’s Artist of the USSR<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

A promotional video for the exhibition<\/a> has been posted on the YouTube channel of BGAKFFD for the 105th anniversary of the actress.<\/p>\n

G.K. Makarova first appeared on the stage of the Kupala Theatre in 1938.<\/strong> The actress’s first success in the theatre came in 1954, when she became famous for her role as Maria Kirillovna in the play \u00abVybachaytse, kali slaska!\u00bb based on the play by A.E.Makayonok. After that, she played very often in A.E.Makayonok’s plays, and the playwright wrote the role of Lushka in the play \u00abLyavonikha na arbitse\u00bb especially for her. Since 1958, G.K.Makarova has acted in films. Her first star role in cinema was the role of Alexandra Matveyevna Gromova in Sergei Mikaelyan’s film \u00abWidows\u00bb in 1976.<\/p>\n

Currently, the funds of the Belarusian State Film, Photo, and Sound Documentation Archive<\/strong> contain more than 30 units of photo documents from 1948 to 1989, about 12 units of film documents from 1961 to 1990, and more than 20 units of sound documents from 1951 to 1983 related to the work of G.K.Makarova.<\/p>\n

The photo library is represented by portraits of the actress, as well as photographs taken during performances. The newsreel \u00abMastatstva Belarusi\u00bb contains stories about G.K.Makarova’s performances on the stage of the Kupala Theater. In addition, you can see the actress on screen by watching the documentaries \u00abKupalauts\u00bb, 1968, \u00abWe Baked a Loaf\u00bb, 1980, \u00abMy Polesie\u00bb, 1981, \u00abFirst Scene\u00bb, 1990. In 1983, director V.A.Orlov made a documentary about her, \u00abI Didn’t Play the Queen\u00bb.<\/p>\n

The archive’s sound library contains recordings of radio plays with the actress, as well as the radio program \u00abPeople’s Artist of the BSSR Galina Makarova\u00bb, dedicated to the artist’s work. Recording date: 1979.<\/p>\n

You can’t confuse G.K.Makarova’s creative style with anyone else’s. The plays and films revealed the actress’s individuality, her generous, inexhaustible talent – uniqueness, her appearance does not change: a kind face, the hands of a hard worker, a responsive, sensitive look.<\/p>\n

Galina Klimentyevna Makarova died on September 28, 1993, at her dacha near Minsk from cardiac arrest. She was buried in Minsk at the Eastern Cemetery.<\/p>\n
