As part of the \u00abArchives for School\u00bb campaign, on December 19, 2024, the institution \u00abState Archives of the Mogilev Region\u00bb<\/strong> was visited by students of the State Educational Institution \u00abSecondary School No. 17 of Mogilev\u00bb and the educational institution \u00abMogilev State College of Arts\u00bb.<\/p>\n

The staff of the Department of Scientific Use of Documents and Information introduced the students to the history of archival work in the Mogilev region, the specifics of the work of archivists, as well as the banner exhibition \u00abAgain, let’s look closer to the past\u00bb, which is dedicated to the history of the city of Mogilev during the Great Patriotic War.<\/p>\n

The children were shown the documentary film \u00abLiberation\u00bb, prepared by the institution \u00abBelarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents\u00bb (Dzerzhinsk), dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Republic of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.<\/p>\n

A career guidance conversation was also held with the students, during which the students were informed about what is needed to obtain the profession of an archivist, and about the educational institutions where training in this specialty is provided.<\/p>\n

Then the excursion continued in the laboratory for digitizing documents, where the children were able to see the process of digital processing of archival files. The students also visited the archive storage, where they got acquainted with the composition of the stored documents, the conditions and mode of their storage.<\/p>\n
