On December 23, 2024, employees of the institution \u00abState Archives of the Gomel Region\u00bb<\/strong> within the framework of the project \u00abOpen Film Archive. We brought this day closer as best we could\u00bb<\/strong> showed the documentary film \u00abLiberation\u00bb<\/strong>, created by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents<\/strong> in the Gomel State College of Builders<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The event was attended by the director of the archive Yuri Shestopalov<\/strong>, who told the students and teachers of the college about the importance of preserving the authenticity of historical facts, the truth about that Great Patriotic War, information about which in modern times in the West they are trying to distort. The head of the archive drew special attention to the great role of archival institutions in preserving historical documents for future generations in order to prevent falsification and rewriting of history.<\/p>\n

Senior researcher of the archive Maya Vaschenko<\/strong> told the students about the feat of front-line cameramen, thanks to whom the documentary chronicle of the terrible days of the war reached the modern young viewer. Thanks to their courage and heroism, future generations have the opportunity to see with their own eyes the history that came to life in the frame.<\/p>\n

The main message of all events dedicated to our Great VICTORY is that we will not give up our VICTORY to anyone!<\/strong><\/p>\n
