On November 14, 2024, the National Archive of the Republic of Belarus<\/strong> (hereinafter – NARB) hosted the III Skalabanai chytanna \u00abPraz vyvuchenne asoby da vyvuchennya history krainy\u00bb.<\/p>\n

In his welcoming speech, O.L.Voinov<\/strong>, Director of the Archives and Records Management Department of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus<\/strong>, noted that biographistics is one of the most interesting areas of historical research, and at the same time one of the most difficult. It is important for every nation and state to know and remember the key figures of their history and culture, and archives store numerous evidences of their lives and activities.<\/p>\n

The director of NARB A.K.Demyanyuk<\/strong> and the head of the Department of Ideological Support of the Department of Personnel Policy and Ideological Support of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus M.N.Skomoroshchenko<\/strong> also addressed the participants of the conference with a welcoming speech.<\/p>\n

Three reports were heard at the plenary session: Professor of the Department of Source Studies of the Historical Faculty of the Belarusian State University (hereinafter – BSU), Ph.D., Associate Professor M.F.Shumeyko<\/strong> (\u00abArchival documents are an important segment of the source base for creating scientific biographies (using the example of V.I.Picheta, D.I.Dovgyallo)\u00bb); Deputy Director of the NARB, Candidate of Historical Sciences S.V.Kulinka<\/strong> (\u00abVladimir Ivanovich Adamushko: archivist, scientist, man\u00bb); Professor of the Department of Ethnology, Museology and Art History of the Faculty of History of BSU, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor A.A.Guzhalovsky<\/strong> (\u00abBelarusian Valkyrie revalyutsi\u00bb).<\/p>\n

The readings were attended by representatives of republican (NARB, National Historical Archive in Grodno), regional (State Archive of Vitebsk region), zonal (Zonal State Archive in Glubokoe) archival institutions, institutions of higher education (BSU, Polotsk State University named after Euphrosyne of Polotsk, Brest State University named after A.S.Pushkin, Vitebsk branch of the MITSO International University), the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (Institute of History, Center for the Study of Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature), educational institutions (Republican Institute of Higher Education, Vitebsk Cadet College, Brest State College of Music named after G.Shirma).<\/p>\n

The international component of the event was presented by researchers from Yaroslav the Wise Novgorod State University<\/strong> and the State Archive of the Novgorod Region<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The participants of the readings got acquainted with the exhibition \u00abVitaly Vladimirovich Skalaban in archival photos\u00bb<\/strong> and the exhibition of printed publications, in which V.V.Skalaban took part.<\/p>\n
