On October 25, 2024, Director of the Belarusian State Archives-Museum of Literature and Art<\/strong> (hereinafter referred to as BGAMLI) E.A.Makarenko<\/strong> took part in the International Scientific Conference \u00abPichetov Readings-2024: History: Science, Education, Memory (for the 90th Anniversary of the History Faculty of BSU)\u00bb<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The conference was organized by the History Faculty of BSU<\/strong>. In total, over 110 scientists, teachers, postgraduate students, master’s students, and expert historians from Belarus and Russia took part in the event. The following topical issues were discussed in six thematic sections: development of modern historical science and education; archive and document in culture, science, education and public administration; ethnocultural and archaeological heritage of Belarus; the Great Patriotic War in scientific understanding; pedagogical practice and traditions of perpetuating the historical memory of the victorious people, etc.<\/p>\n

The conference participants were addressed by the Director of the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus O.L.Voinov, Vice-Rector for Research at BSU, Doctor of Chemical Sciences A.V.Blokhin, Dean of the Faculty of History at BSU, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor A.G.Kokhanovsky, Director of the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor V.L.Lakiza, Deputy Dean, Academic Secretary of the Faculty of History at Moscow State University named after M.V.Lomonosov, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor O.V.Solopova<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The conference included a Round Table with international participation \u00ab200th Anniversary of Belarusian Archeography\u00bb, dedicated to the publication in 1824 of a collection of documents \u00abBelarusian Archive of Ancient Letters\u00bb prepared by the Gomel Archpriest Father John (I.I.Grigorovich). The moderators of the round table were Candidate of Historical Sciences, Professor M.F.Shumeiko and Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor T.D.Gernovich<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Head of the Department of Source Studies of the Faculty of History of the Belarusian State University, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor S.N. Khodyn and the Director of the Belarusian Research Institute of Documentation and Archival Affairs, Candidate of Historical Sciences A.E.Rybakov<\/strong> addressed the participants of the Round Table with a welcoming speech.<\/p>\n

The reports at the round table were made by M.F.Shumeiko<\/strong> \u00abA Quarter of a Century Later (on the 200th Anniversary of Belarusian Archeography)\u00bb, Deputy General Director for Scientific and Methodological Work of OOO DIMI-CENTER, Doctor of Historical Sciences (Russian Federation) Yu.Yu.Yumasheva<\/strong> \u00abThe Problem of Publishing Historical Sources in the Electronic Environment\u00bb, Chairman of the Archival Council under the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences V.P.Kozlov<\/strong> \u00abOn the Dictionary of Terms and Definitions of the Scientific Discipline Historical Documetology\u00bb, Associate Professor of the Department of History of Belarus of Modern and Contemporary History of the Faculty of History of BSU V.A.Teplova<\/strong> \u00abAt the Origins of the History of the Orthodox Church of Belarus: on the 200th Anniversary of the Creation of the \u00abBelarusian Hierarchy\u00bb of Archpriest John Grigorovich\u00bb.<\/p>\n

E.A.Makarenko<\/strong> in her speech \u00abPreparation of a Facsimile Edition of the First and Second Parts of the \u00abBelarusian Archive of Ancient Letters\u00bb spoke about the work of the BGAMLI on the acquisition, preservation and popularization of the documentary heritage of I.I.Grigorovich<\/strong>, paying special attention to the joint project with the National Library of Belarus on the reprint edition of two volumes of the \u00abBelarusian Archive\u00bb.<\/p>\n
