The Week of Parental Love<\/strong> is held in the Republic of Belarus from October 14 to 21. October 14 is Mother’s Day<\/strong> in Belarus. October 21 is Father’s Day<\/strong> in our country. The Week of Parental Love is primarily dedicated to the efforts of each parent, their support and the love they put into raising their children. On October 14, at a ceremonial meeting of the staff, Deputy Director of the National Archives of Belarus Natalia Buloichik<\/strong> congratulated the women employees of the archive on Mother’s Day and wished them warmth, great happiness and harmony. N.Buloichik also told the story of her grandmother, who was awarded the honorary title of \u00abMother Heroine\u00bb in 1947 for giving birth to and raising ten children with dignity. Before the meeting, the archive workers were presented with sweet gifts.<\/p>\n

An exhibition of documents from the 16th to early 20th centuries was prepared for the event, which was presented by the head of the department of scientific research and publication activities, Sergei Ryndin<\/strong>. The rarest document was the will of Foma Voitsekovich Stabensky, in which his wife Galshka was instructed to provide education for her sons and a dowry for her daughters, as well as to look after Foma’s mother Dorota. The document is dated March 2, 1590. The remaining documents highlight the system of state and public care for motherhood and childhood in the Belarusian lands in the 19th – early 20th centuries. They contain information about the work of one of the orphanages for children of low-income parents in Vitebsk, the Mogilev Maternity Institute and the \u00abYasi\u00bb orphanage in Minsk.<\/p>\n
