From October 2 to 4, 2024, Deputy Director of the archive E.M.Grinevich <\/strong>took part in the II Forum \u00abRussia and Belarus: Common History, Common Destiny\u00bb<\/strong> as part of the Belarusian delegation. The head of the delegation was M.A.Shchetkina, Head of the Representative Office of the Standing Committee of the Union State in Minsk<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The key objective of the Forum was to promote the preservation of common historical memory in Russia and Belarus, to give new impetus to joint work to counter attempts to falsify history and revise the results of World War II, as well as issues of Russian-Belarusian cooperation in the field of study, preservation and practical use of archaeological heritage.<\/p>\n

E.M.Grinevich made a report \u00abNazi genocide on the territory of Belarus and Russia. Historical and legal assessments and approaches\u00bb<\/strong>. During the presentation, the issue of reflecting the topic of war crimes and genocide in the occupied territory of Belarus in 1941-1944 in the archive’s audiovisual documents was raised, as well as the archive’s assistance to the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Belarus in investigating the criminal case of the genocide of the Belarusian people.<\/p>\n

The participants got acquainted with the work of the Center for Historical Memory Research of the Educational and Scientific Cluster \u00abInstitute of Education and Humanities\u00bb of the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University. They took part in a meeting of educational organizations that are members of the Association of Schools of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus.<\/p>\n

The forum concluded with the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Kaliningrad Regional Historical and Art Museum<\/strong> and the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
