October 4 – on the eve of the holiday of the Archivist Day<\/strong> – a working visit of the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Belarus E.I.Kovalenko<\/strong> in the National Archive of the Republic of Belarus<\/strong> (NARB) was held.<\/p>\n

The director of NARB A.K.Demyanyuk<\/strong> introduced the delegation of the Ministry of Justice with the history of the archive, its main areas of work. The emphasis in the report was made on the implementation of one of the target indicators of the \u00abArchives of Belarus\u00bb subprogram – archival documents. A.K.Demyanyuk pointed out that over 9 months of the current year, the implementation of the plan for the completion amounted to almost 87% of the annual (17,562 units). The Minister of Justice was also familiar with the conditions for storing archival documents.<\/p>\n

Director of the Department of Archives and Block Production of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus O.L.Voinov<\/strong> noted a large work carried out in the industry, to provide archives with new areas for recruitment.<\/p>\n

Deputy Director of NARB, Ph.D. S.V.Kulinok<\/strong> spoke about the implementation of the plan for organizing and holding exhibitions of documents. For three quarters, NARB prepared 67 exhibitions (2 banner, 55 documentary and 10 virtual), which is 670% of the annual plan. Such a significant overfulfill is associated with the activation of the work of the archive itself and the archival industry as a whole (in particular, the public action \u00abArchives – School\u00bb). In addition, state bodies and organizations, universities, school institutions, etc. also show considerable interest in documentary exhibitions. Also, E.I.Kovalenko was informed about the main areas of the publishing activity of NARB.<\/p>\n

Deputy Director E.A.Stukanova<\/strong> reported on the work of the archive on the issue of digitizing documents. For nine months, almost 190 thousand electronic pages were digitized by the archive (76.5% of the annual plan). The Minister of Justice was reported on the renewal and acquisition of the material and technical base (planetary scanners), which made it possible to significantly increase the amount of digitization of documents. A separate place in the report was given to work on reception for the permanent storage of electronic documents.<\/p>\n

During the working visit, E.I.Kovalenko got acquainted with the work of the reading room of the NARB, the mechanism and working conditions of users.<\/p>\n

In his report at the meeting at the meeting of the heads of republican archival institutions and employees of the NARB, the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Belarus E.I.Kovalenko noted a great work that is carried out in the archival industry, in material and technical support for activities, noted a high level of work of archivists in all basic areas their activities.<\/p>\n

The main tasks in the work were also identified: strengthening the material and technical base of archival institutions, the implementation of the target indicators of the \u00abArchives of Belarus\u00bb, active popularization in various forms of archival documents (publications, exhibitions, films, conferences, etc.).<\/p>\n

E.I.Kovalenko handed over to the director of the archives and office work of O.L.Voinov congratulatory addresses of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus R.A.Golovchenko<\/strong> and the chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus N.I.Kachanova<\/strong> with the holiday – the Day of the Archivist<\/strong>. From personally, the Minister of Justice wished the present for good health, well -being and new accomplishments in the field of the archival service.<\/p>\n

In the conclusion, a solemn presentation of the awards of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus was the most distinguished employees of the archival industry.<\/p>\n
