On September 19-20, 2024, the head of the research and publication department of the National Historical Archives of Belarus, Sergei Ryndin<\/strong>, took part in the VII International Scientific Conference \u00abArchives and Genealogy\u00bb<\/strong>, organized by the National Archives of the Republic of Karelia<\/strong>. The event was held in Petrozavodsk, in the conference hall of the National Library of the Republic of Karelia.<\/p>\n

The problematic field of the conference included such issues as the composition and information potential of genealogical sources of archives and museums of a number of CIS countries, the use of modern technologies in genealogical research, and the study of the history of individual families and dynasties.<\/p>\n

S.Ryndin gave a report \u00abPhotographic materials as a source for the genealogy of the population of Belarus in the late 19th – early 20th centuries\u00bb<\/strong>, in which he described the photographic sources in the funds of the National Archives of Belarus. The report aroused great interest among the audience.<\/p>\n

In the final part of his speech, S.Ryndin presented the director of the National Archives of the Republic of Karelia, Aleksandr Morozov<\/strong>, with two publications of the NIA of Belarus dedicated to photo documents on the history of the Minsk men’s and Minsk women’s gymnasiums, as well as a joint publication of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus and BelTA \u00abArchives. Nothing but the truth\u00bb<\/strong> about the atrocities of the Nazi occupiers on Belarusian soil during the Great Patriotic War.<\/p>\n
