On August 17, 2024, the institution \u00abState Archives of the Gomel Region\u00bb<\/strong> within the framework of the republican campaign \u00abYoung Archivist\u00bb<\/strong> opened its doors to 7th grade students of the state educational institution \u00abSecondary School No.34 of Gomel\u00bb<\/strong>. In order to involve students in working with archival documents, a circle of interested children was organized at the school, who will visit the archive throughout the school year, and will also take part in the regional competition \u00abYoung Archivist\u00bb<\/p>\n

The students were met by the Deputy Head of the department of information, publication and use of documents Zoya Anatolyevna Aleksandrovich<\/strong>, who told the schoolchildren about the history of the archive, its main areas of activity. The children familiarized themselves with the collections of documents on various topics with interest. Then the children were given a tour of the archive and archive storage, where the schoolchildren were shown the stages of working with documents: document repair, filing of files, design of file covers, etc. In the archive storage, the leading archivist of the department of accounting and ensuring the safety of documents Marina Vladimirovna Bortnovskaya<\/strong> introduced the children to the basic conditions for the permanent storage of documents, and also showed the excursionists documents with a 100-year history.<\/p>\n

In addition, the archivists congratulated the schoolchildren on the holiday of National Unity Day<\/strong> and showed the film \u00abReunification\u00bb<\/strong>, prepared by the institution \u00abBelarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents\u00bb<\/strong> for the events dedicated to National Unity Day.<\/p>\n
