The <strong>National Archives of the Republic of Belarus<\/strong> prepared a documentary exhibition dedicated to the Day of National Unity and the 85th anniversary of the reunification of Western Belarus with the BSSR.<\/p>\n<p>Autumn 1939 forever entered the pantheon of Belarusian glory of the 20th century as an epochal event for the Belarusian people and state &#8211; the reunification of the Belarusian nation in a single state. At the current stage of development of independent and sovereign Belarus and the Belarusian people, reunification is one of the most important socio-political, socio-economic, ethno-national and cultural events of the 20th century. As a result of the September liberation campaign and the subsequent events of September-November 1939, which legally formalized and consolidated the act of reunification, the national and territorial unification of the Belarusian people in a single Belarusian state took place. Ethnic and territorial unification objectively led to the national consolidation of the Belarusian people, the strengthening of Belarusian statehood and the expansion of the territorial borders of Belarus.<\/p>\n<p>The documents presented at the exhibition reflect the most important events of the autumn of 1939. On October 28-30, 1939, the People&#8217;s Assembly of Western Belarus was held in Bialystok &#8211; in fact, a people&#8217;s referendum on the future of the Western Belarusian region. The documents adopted there &#8211; on state power, on the entry of Western Belarus into the BSSR, on land, on the nationalization of banks and large industrial enterprises &#8211; played an important role in the further development of Belarusian statehood, economy, culture and education.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<table border=\"0\"  width=\"100%\" cellpadding=\"5\" cellspacing=\"0\" class=\"gen_table\">\n<tr align='center'>\n<td align='center'><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/archives.gov.by\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/09\/001-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" id=\"media-1015664\" class=\"wp-image-1015664 alignnone size-full\" width=\"80%\" \/><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td align='center'>1.
