On August 2, 2024, the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus<\/strong> presented a documentary exhibition \u00abState Control Committee of the Republic of Belarus: history and modernity\u00bb<\/strong>, dedicated to the ceremonial events on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the formation of the State Control Committee and the 105th anniversary of the state control bodies of Belarus. The exhibition was prepared jointly with the National Historical Archives of Belarus.<\/p>\n

The formation of state control structures as one of the basic bodies of state administration began immediately after the formation of the Belarusian Soviet Socialist Republic (BSSR). In January 1919, the Commissariat of State Control of the Provisional Workers’ and Peasants’ Soviet Government of Belarus was created, which was soon transformed into the Commissariat of State (later – People’s) Control of the BSSR (KNK), in accordance with the decisions of the First All-Belarusian Congress of Soviets.<\/p>\n

The acquisition of independence by the Republic of Belarus required the restructuring of the entire system of public administration. On July 4, 1990, the CNC of the BSSR was abolished, but on March 13, 1992, the Law \u00abOn the Control Chamber of the Republic of Belarus\u00bb was adopted, in accordance with which the Control Chamber of the Republic of Belarus was formed. On September 23, 1992, the Department of Economic Control under the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus was created.<\/p>\n

The final formation of the main control service of the country took place on August 2, 1994, when the Control Service of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Belarus was created (in 1995, it was transformed into the Control Service of the President of the Republic of Belarus). Since 1996, the successor of the first presidential control body is the State Control Committee (SCC). In this regard, August 2 is the Day of Employees of State Control Bodies.<\/p>\n

Today, the State Control Committee is the supreme financial control body of the country, whose main task is to ensure economic security, control over the execution of the republican budget and the use of state property.<\/p>\n

The National Archives of the Republic of Belarus presented unique documents at the exhibition: a certificate on the reorganization of the People’s Commissariat of the Workers’ and Peasants’ Inspection of Belarus; the internal structure plan and staffing of the Minsk provincial department of state control; certificates, mandates and questionnaires of employees; the Resolution of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus and the Council of Ministers of the BSSR on the transformation of the Soviet Control Commission of the Council of Ministers of the BSSR into a union-republican body and measures to strengthen control over the implementation of decisions of the party and government, reports on the work of the People’s Commissariat of State Control of the BSSR; an order of the State Control Committee of the Republic of Belarus on the reorganization of the structure; analyses of the results of the work of the State Control Committee of the Republic of Belarus, inspection reports, personal files of the heads of the State Control Committee and other documents.<\/p>\n

The head of the Department for the Use of Documents and Information M.A. Starostenko introduced the participants of the event to unique documents.<\/p>\n
