On July 11, 2024, the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art<\/strong> received documents from the personal archive of the poet, participant in the Great Patriotic War Pavel Mikhailovich Sushko<\/strong> and the poet, translator Pyotr Pavlovich Sushko<\/strong>. The documents of his relatives (grandfather and father) were handed over by Sergei Petrovich Sushko<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

During the Great Patriotic War P.M.Sushko was a liaison officer of the Moscow partisan detachment, then a partisan of the 4th Belarusian Partisan Brigade. After the war, he participated in the restoration of the destroyed national economy.<\/p>\n

To be published by P.M.Sushko started in 1938 in newspapers and magazines of Western Belarus. In the newspaper \u00abKlich Partyzan\u00bb – the organ of the Miory underground district committee – in 1943 he published notes under the pseudonym \u00abYazep Syaunya\u00bb. Composers M.Petrenko and A.Polonsky wrote music for his poems \u00abStyazhynka\u00bb and \u00abOh, there was a joke\u00bb. \u00abMarch of the Belarusian partisans\u00bb (words by P.M. Sushko) was sung by the people’s avengers.<\/p>\n

Poet and translator P.P.Sushko is the author of collections of satirical and humorous poems, tales, miniatures, poetic feuilletons, parodies and epigrams. In 1966\u20131968 he worked as the head of the department of the Miory regional newspaper \u00abScyag Pratsy\u00bb, in 1968\u20131977. \u2013 correspondent for the newspapers \u00abVitsebski Rabochy\u00bb, \u00abOn Guard of October\u00bb, \u00abZvyazda\u00bb, magazine \u00abVozhyk\u00bb, etc. Since 1989 – senior editor at the publishing house \u00abPolymya\u00bb. He has been a member of the Writers’ Union of Belarus since 1984.<\/p>\n

The archive-museum received biographical and creative documents of P.M. Sushko and P.P. Sushko: certificates of awarding medals \u00abTwenty Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War\u00bb, military ID (1940), manuscripts of collections of poems \u00abChords of the Sir\u00bb and \u00abNative Tunes\u00bb, correspondence, books with dedicatory inscriptions, family photographs, etc. . These documents will significantly replenish the funds of BGAMLI and will become important sources on the history of the reunification of Western and Eastern Belarus and the Great Patriotic War.<\/p>\n
