On July 5, 2024, a round table \u00abGenocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945)\u00bb<\/strong> was held in the reading room of the institution \u00abState Archive of the Gomel Region\u00bb<\/strong> (hereinafter referred to as the State Archives of the Gomel Region).<\/p>\n

The round table was attended by: deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus of the 8th convocation from the Gomel-Novobelitsky electoral district No. 36, deputy chairman of the Standing Commission on Housing Policy and Construction Sergei Adamovich Kazachok<\/strong>, director of the institution \u00abState Archives of the Gomel Region\u00bb Andrei Nikolaevich Sushchevich<\/strong>, Chairman of the Novobelitsky Regional Public Organization \u00abBelaya Rus\u00bb Lyubov Aleksandrovna Tkach<\/strong>, as well as an asset of large enterprises of the Novobelitsky district of Gomel.<\/p>\n

The event was opened by GAGom director Andrei Nikolaevich Sushchevich. In his opening speech, he introduced the exhibition \u00abThe Unconquered Gomel Region\u00bb to the participants of the round table. The exhibition project \u00abThe Unconquered Gomel Region\u00bb is a significant contribution to the great work being carried out by archival institutions to preserve the historical memory of the events and participants of the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945).<\/p>\n

In addition, the director of the GAGom told what the archive is, what unique documents are stored in a state institution, as well as about the great ideological work carried out by the GAGom among the youth and labor collectives of Gomel.<\/p>\n

Thus, the director of the State Archives noted that the regional archive for the first half of this year presented to the public 6 documentary exhibitions about the genocide and heroism of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945).<\/p>\n

Also, the director of the archive, Andrei Nikolaevich Suschevich, spoke about the project \u00abOpen Film Archive. We brought this day closer as best we could\u00bb, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Republic of Belarus from the Nazi invaders. The documentary film \u201cLiberation\u201d was shown to the participants of the round table.<\/p>\n

In an open dialogue, the experts expressed their competent opinion on the above topic, exchanged experience in working with youth, and also supported the proposal of the director of the State Agencies to organize and conduct joint projects.<\/p>\n

At the end of the event, the round table participants thanked each other for the constructive and interesting dialogue.<\/p>\n
