On July 2, 2024, on the eve of the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus, the director of the institution \u00abState Archives of the Gomel Region\u00bb<\/strong> (hereinafter referred to as the State Archive) Andrei Nikolaevich Sushchevich, as part of the \u00abArchives to School\u00bb campaign, conducted a lesson in historical memory for schoolchildren of the Novobelitsky district of Gomel at the \u00abMir\u00bb cinema \u00ab(97 schoolchildren).<\/p>\n

In his report, the director of GAGom raised extremely relevant topics today: what it means to be a patriot of one\u2019s country, what patriotism is and how the current generation understands it, how important it is to love, cherish and defend one\u2019s Motherland.<\/p>\n

The institution \u00abState Archive of the Gomel Region\u00bb presented a documentary exhibition \u00abThe Unconquered Gomel Region\u00bb within the walls of the cinema. Using the materials of the exhibition, the director of the State Archive, as part of the republican action \u00abArchives to School,\u00bb conducted a lesson \u00abLiberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.\u00bb Thanks to this, 97 schoolchildren from the Novobelitsky district of Gomel received a unique opportunity to study in detail the archival documents and photographs presented at the exhibition, reflecting the events of those already distant days in the history of our region.<\/p>\n

The exhibition project \u00abThe Unconquered Gomel Region\u00bb is a significant contribution to the great work carried out by archival institutions to preserve the historical memory of the events and participants of the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945) and takes on special significance on the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazis invaders.<\/p>\n

In addition, the documentary film \u00abLiberation\u00bb was shown to the children as part of the \u00abOpen Film Archive\u00bb project. We brought this day closer as best we could,\u00bb dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders. Speaking to schoolchildren, GAG director Andrei Nikolaevich Suschevich spoke about the project \u00abOpen Film Archive. We brought this day closer as best we could,\u00bb which was prepared by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo and Sound Documents, where the story about the liberation of the cities of Belarus is told in chronological order.<\/p>\n
