On June 28, 2024, on the eve of Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus<\/strong>, an event dedicated to the national holiday and the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders<\/strong> was held at the pedestal of the T-34<\/strong> liberation tank, located at the Central House of Officers of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus.<\/p>\n

The event was attended by the Director of the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus O.L.Voinov<\/strong>, Deputy Director of the Department A.E.Tsvetkov<\/strong>, heads and employees of republican archival institutions<\/strong>, chairmen of trade union committees and primary organizations of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Participants of the action laid flowers at the monument and observed a minute of silence in memory of Soviet soldiers, partisans and underground fighters who fought in the battles for the liberation of Minsk and Belarus.<\/p>\n

Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus has been celebrated on July 3 since 1997, in accordance with the decision of the 1996 republican referendum, when the Belarusian people chose this day for the main state holiday to commemorate a historically important date in the fate of the country. On July 3, 1944, during the Minsk offensive operation, the capital of Soviet Belarus, Minsk, was liberated<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
