On June 6, 2024, as part of the International Week of Archives<\/strong>, an Open Day was held at the institution \u00abState Archives of Public Associations of the Gomel Region\u00bb<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Students of the educational institution \u00abGomel State Mechanical Engineering College\u00bb<\/strong> became guests of the state archive.<\/p>\n

The format of the event was chosen so that guests of the archive had the opportunity not only to learn the history of the archive and see the variety of stored documents, but also to get acquainted with how to work with documents and how to use the experience of archivists in everyday life.<\/p>\n

The children were told a brief history of the formation of archival science in Belarus, the composition of the stored documents in the state archive, as well as their transfer to electronic media.<\/p>\n

As part of the event, a screening of the documentary film \u00abLiberation\u00bb was organized for students, prepared by the institution \u201cBelarusian State Archive of Film, Photo and Sound Documents\u201d, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.<\/p>\n

The children were given a sightseeing tour of the archives, where they showed how documents are stored, demonstrated the reading room, and current exhibitions of archival documents and photographs.<\/p>\n

In addition, on this day, everyone received advice on organizing acquisition, accounting, storage, use, as well as conducting independent searches for archival documents and much useful information.<\/p>\n
