On May 24, 2024, the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art<\/strong> (hereinafter referred to as BGAMLI) hosted a scientific and practical conference \u00abXXIV Higher Readings\u00bb<\/strong> dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Writers’ Union of Belarus<\/strong>. The conference was attended by researchers, literary critics, archive and museum workers, and representatives of higher educational institutions of Belarus.<\/p>\n

The work of the conference was held in accordance with the chronological and thematic plan within the framework of the following problem fields: the \u00abUzvyshsha\u00bb<\/strong> era as a phenomenon of cultural upsurge; domestic literary criticism in the spiritual and sociocultural context of the 20th \u2013 early 21st centuries; national literary classics: new research and discoveries; literary processes through the prism of journalism; current issues of general, special and specialized theory of translation; literary translation yesterday and today; The Great Patriotic War<\/strong> as an object of literary reflection; issues of preserving spiritual heritage; current problems of modern humanities.<\/p>\n

During the scientific event, new research and developments were presented, which aroused great interest and discussion among the participants.<\/p>\n

The conference participants were addressed with a welcoming speech by: the head of the department of information, publication and use of documents of the BGAMLI, candidate of historical sciences, associate professor V.P.Skok<\/strong>, who simultaneously served as the moderator of the event, as well as the honorary archivist of Belarus A.V.Zapartyko<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The plenary session was attended by:
\n\u2022 Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor of BSU M.F.Shumeiko<\/strong> with a report \u00abThe Union of Literature of Belarus in the Candidate of Cultural Studies in the Humanitarian Profile\u00bb<\/strong>;
\n\u2022 senior researcher at the Yanka Kupala Institute of Literary Studies, State Scientific Institution \u00abCenter for Research of Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus\u00bb<\/strong>, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor I.E.Bogdanovich<\/strong> with the report \u00abThe literary genre of paslanna and the creativity of the poet \u00abUzvyshsha\u00bb<\/strong>;
\n\u2022 honorary archivist of Belarus A.V.Zapartyko<\/strong> with a report \u00abAnd the song is the hearts of the heat…<\/strong>\u00bb (Yes, the history of the archival decline of Pauluk Trus);
\n\u2022 leading researcher at the Research Center of Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, candidate of art history, associate professor K.I.Remishevsky<\/strong> with a report \u00abUnknown pages of documentary filmmaking of the Great Patriotic War: Belarusian newsreeler Julian Dovner\u00bb<\/strong>;
\n\u2022 leading researcher of the department of information, publication and use of documents of the BGAMLI, candidate of philological sciences, associate professor M.P.Kenko<\/strong> with a report \u00abUladzimir Dubouk – translator of William Shakespeare\u2019s sanitary system\u00bb<\/strong>;
\n\u2022 leading archivist of the department for the use of documents and information of the Belarusian State Archive of Film and Photo Documents E.I.Tretyak<\/strong> with the report \u00abVoices of the People’s Poets of Belarus – Sound Recordings from the Funds of the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo and Sound Documents\u00bb<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The scientific discussion of the event participants continued during the work of the section \u00abAcademic Literature and Current Problems of Current Humanitarian Sciences in Spiritual and Social Cultural Studies\u00bb.<\/p>\n

At the end of the conference, the director of BGAMLI, E.A.Makarenko, summed up its results and presented letters of gratitude to individual participants of the event: A.V.Zapartyko, M.F.Shumeiko, K.I.Remishevsky.<\/p>\n
